"Situational Awareness for Leaders"
Discover how to apply four behavioral analysis skills used in situational awareness to all aspects of leadership. From senior leadership down through every level of an organization, we will discuss the importance of being able to assess potential threats, vulnerabilities and how situational awareness impacts conversations, interactions and the work environment.
Jabari Peoples is the Founder and CEO of Overwatch Secure LLC., a security consulting company specializing in situational awareness. He has served as a guest panelist on the Fifth Annual Corporate Security Modernization Forum discussing the role of situational awareness in today’s modern security industry. He also joined the Dayton Miami Valley Safety Council in late 2024. Jabari is a Certified Executive Protection Specialist and Certified Situational Awareness Training Instructor. He holds Program Certifications in the “CARVER” Target Analysis and Vulnerability Assessment Methodology” through SMI Consultancy, and “Church Security Strategies” through The League of Executive Protection Specialist instructed by Byron Rogers.
Over the past 30 years, Jabari has worked in a variety of leadership positions in the security field to include a crew chief of an amphibious assault unit in the United States Marine Corp, and a communications systems specialist and instructor in the United States Army. Jabari has provided security for several industries to include workplace violence incidents in manufacturing, VIP close protection and physical security in healthcare. He has co-led security teams during mass layoff events in the pharmaceutical industry and VIP close protection details and community security for churches. He has performed threat assessments, vulnerability assessments, led and assisted high-profile event VIP security teams for government officials, celebrities and sports professionals.
Jabari currently trains and consults local organizations that include N-Power Dayton, the Dayton Human Relations Council and The National Black MBA Association’s Leaders of Tomorrow Program. He is married to his lovely wife Kathryn Lewis Peoples and are both parents of a blended family with 2 boys and 2 girls.
