Safety Breakfast with the Experts: February 2025

Thursday, February 20, 2025 (8:00 AM - 9:00 AM) (EST)

Description

"Situational Awareness for Leaders"

How to use key behavioral analysis tools to improve yourself as a safety conscious leader and cultivate a safe environment where new leaders can develop and thrive in your organization.

In today’s volatile and unpredictable workspaces, leaders need to be equipped with every available skillset possible.  While workplace violence and immediate physical threats understandably grab the most attention, there are other types of threats that can have lasting, pervasive impacts. These threats, though less visible, can undermine employee morale, hinder effective leadership, and affect the overall wellbeing of the workforce.

This presentation will be given by Jabari Peoples, Founder & Owner, Overwatch Secure LLC. Jabari is an 8-year Military Veteran of both the United States Marine Corps and the US Army. He specializes in situational awareness training and leadership development. His Situational Awareness Training focuses on teaching behavioral analysis skills to people that will prevent violence and other dangers before they happen.  Jabari has provided security for several industries to include workplace violence incidents in manufacturing, VIP close protection and physical security in Healthcare. He has performed threat assessments, vulnerability assessments, led and assisted high-profile event VIP security teams for government officials, celebrities and sports professionals.

Jabari has served as a guest panelist on the Fifth Annual Corporate Security Modernization Forum discussing the role of situational awareness in today’s modern security industry. He also joined the Dayton Miami Valley Safety Council in late 2024. Jabari currently trains and consults local organizations that include N-Power Dayton, the Dayton Human Relations Council and The National Black MBA Association’s Leaders of Tomorrow Program.
