Generation Dayton: Speaker Series with The Foodbank, Inc.

Tuesday, May 18, 2021 (4:00 PM - 5:00 PM) (EDT)

Description

When the Memorial Day Tornados hit our community, The Foodbank team had no idea they'd be working in crisis mode for two years. The tornado outbreak would prove to be a trial run to a more widespread crisis: the COVID-19 pandemic. Join us as we hear from Lee Lauren Truesdale, Chief Development Officer, and Lauren Tappel, Development Lead. Lauren and Lee will share how The Foodbank has served our community in the midst of crisis and expanded their support systems, simultaneously.  Get a sneak peak of The Foodbank warehouse and gardens during this exclusive tour.

About The Foodbank:
The mission of The Foodbank is to relieve hunger in the community through a network of partner agencies by acquiring and distributing food. Food and related supplies are distributed to a network of pantries, community kitchens, shelters and other charitable programs, all of which support the health and development of food insecure individuals.

About Generation Dayton:
Generation Dayton (GenD) aims to connect and develop the region’s young professionals by providing them access to education, networking and community service opportunities.
