Be Aware & Be Prepared – Keeping your Community Safe 
This session offers a foundational understanding of preparing for various hazards and their consequence and highlights the four phases of emergency management: Mitigation, Preparedness, Response, and Recovery. 

About the Speaker:
Hank Mylander is an emergency preparedness planner with the Ohio EMA. He previously worked for ten years as an attorney and policy analyst for the Franklin County Department of Job and Family Services. Before that, Hank served four years as a combat medic with the U.S. Army’s 10th Mountain Division. Hank graduated from the Ohio State University with degrees in business administration and law.
