The Dayton region's media landscape changed drastically in 2020, and we're not just talking about the effects of the global COVID-19 pandemic. Until this year, Dayton's media make-up was unique. Cox Media Group Ohio held several brands, including WHIO-TV, the Dayton Daily News, WHIO-AM, Dayton.com, and many more. 

That relationship changed with a recent evolution of Cox Media Group and the divestiture of the Dayton Daily News.

Our featured speaker, Rob Rohr, Market Vice President at Cox Media Group will explain what the shift in ownership of these well-known brands means to consumers of news and other media in our region, and how it affects our business community, as well as the mission of our local media outlets. Rob will also give us a look at the results of new research that shows how the market is responding to COVID-19.

About the Speaker: Cox Media Group Market Vice President, Rob Rohr heads up an integrated broadcasting, publishing, direct marketing and digital media company. Prior to becoming Market Vice President, Rohr served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of CMG Ohio, where he led a team responsible for producing and distributing news and information for award-winning local brands, including WHIO Channel 7, The Dayton Daily News, K99.1 and WHIO 1290 AM along with two other daily and several weekly newspapers, a variety of news and niche local web properties. 

Rohr is active in the local business community, playing a role in the Dayton Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Leadership Dayton, the Greater Dayton Advertising Federation, and the presenting board for TEDxDayton.
