In partnership with Marsh & McLennan please join us as Ty Smith from Vigilance Risk Solutions discusses best practices for employers in understanding the reality of workplace violence, identifying risk factors by enhancing your situational awareness, implementing stress management strategies, and responding effectively to various forms of workplace violence. Ty is a highly decorated retired United States Navy SEAL with multiple deployments to the Middle East. After 20-years of faithful and honorable service in the Navy, Ty founded Vigilance Risk Solutions, a technology company that specializes in conflict and violence prevention. Ty completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Management from Ashford University where he currently resides as a member of the University's Board of Trustees. Furthermore, Ty earned a Master of Business for Veterans degree from the University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business, where he currently serves as a member of the Marshall Business School Board of Counselors. Ty is also a mentor at the San Diego State University Lavin Entrepreneurship Center.

The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation has a mandate requiring specific group rated employers to attend a mandatory two-hour workplace safety training session. Private employers have a two-hour requirement for 2019 policy year with a claim from 7/1/17 to 6/30/18. Public organizations have a two-hour requirement for 2020 policy year with a claim from 1/1/18 to 3/31/19.
