Join the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce and Dayton/Miami Valley Safety Council to hear from RecoveryOhio Director, Aimee Shadwick on the Ohio Recovery Friendly Workplace program and RecoveryOhio's initiatives impacting the business community. 

In August of this year, Governor Mike DeWine announced the launch of the Ohio Recovery Friendly Workplace program, designed to provide a boost to Ohio businesses by creating job opportunities for individuals in recovery from substance abuse disorder or mental health conditions. 

Led by RecoveryOhio, this initiative receives additional support from the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, the Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation, and the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation. 

"The Dayton region is 'walking the walk' to make sure people in need in our communities are not left behind and our businesses have resources to support mental health," said Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Chris Kershner in an October Op-Ed. "But more needs to be done. Continued partnerships with public and private sector leaders, and organizations dedicated to services like local ADAMHS boards, will help us continue to move forward and ensure the Dayton region is addressing this crisis for the health of our people and the future of our community and businesses."
