Experience Dayton's history at this month's Business After Hours - a premier networking event that provides a chance to exhibit and showcase your company's product or service while networking with both members and non-chamber members alike.
After WWII, Mound Laboratory was constructed as the first Atomic Energy Commission site to continue and consolidate Dayton’s work within the Manhattan Project that produced the world’s first atomic bombs. Mound operated from 1948-2003 as an integrated research, development and production facility that supported U.S. nuclear weapons, energy and space programs.
The Discovery Center reveals the top secret history of Mound, its employees and their significant contributions to national security during the tense years of the Cold War, the Nuclear Age and the Space Race. Managed and operated by Dayton History, the Discovery Center offers a fresh look at yet another aspect of the region’s rich history of innovation in order to inspire generations by connecting them with the unique people, places, and events that changed the Dayton region and the world.
Light refreshments will be provided.
Event sponsors are the Mound Development Corporation Business Park, the Mound Cold War Discovery Center and Dayton History.
