Joby is a California-based company building quiet, all-electric aircraft to connect people like never before. With up to 100 miles of range and the ability to take off and land vertically, the Joby aircraft will change the way we move while reducing the acoustic and climate footprint of flight.

Joby plans to build facility capable of delivering up to 500 aircraft per year; a 140-acre site at Dayton International Airport has potential to support significant further growth, with space to build up to two million square feet of manufacturing facilities; Joby plans to invest up to $500 million and create up to 2,000 jobs.

About the Speaker: Tom Ubelhart grew up in northeast Ohio, graduated from Lemon Monroe High School in the Dayton area and currently lives in Greene County. His 30 year career in manufacturing began by attending Akron Machinist Institute in 1993 obtaining journeyman Machinist credentials and starting his career running CNC equipment. Over the next 20 years, he's held positions such as Programming manager, Manufacturer manager, VP of engineering, and Process improvement manager in the tooling, aerospace and defense sectors. Now, as the General Manager of Joby aviation Dayton, he will help to stand up and lead the new plant known as JMO in Dayton Ohio.
