Ron Hartmann - Owner, Vercom Systems Inc.
Ronald Hartmann is the Director of Technical Services at VerCom Systems, an Ohio-based provider of IT and communications solutions, with a strong emphasis on safety & cybersecurity. VerCom's services include business telephony, managed IT services, structured cabling, overhead paging and emergency alerting, video surveillance, and access control.
Ronald has worked in the technology industry since the early 1990s, with hands-on experience spanning TI minicomputers, Unix and IBM AS/400 systems, the early days of Windows 3.1 and Novell networks, the transition to networked PCs and client-server computing, and today's cloud-based and hybrid environments.
His telecommunications experience is equally extensive, covering SS7 telecommunications infrastructure, traditional POTS service, T1 circuits, ISDN, PRIs, and modern SIP-based communications. Ronald also brings in-depth knowledge of 911 and E911 requirements, helping businesses move beyond simply checking a compliance box to implementing solutions designed to properly locate and protect their employees during an emergency.
Throughout that evolution, Ronald and the VerCom team have specialized in the implementation, integration, security, and ongoing operation of these technologies, with cybersecurity playing an increasingly critical role in how those systems are designed and managed. They take particular pride in bringing together systems that might otherwise operate independently and making them function as one finely tuned, integrated environment.

Summary
Every business has some version of an Emergency Action Plan (EAP), but a plan in a binder cannot push a button when a crisis actually hits. OSHA compliance on paper does not equal operational capability on the ground. In this session, Firefighter Safe and VerCom Systems will walk attendees through building a resilient EAP that bridges the gap between regulatory requirements and real-world execution.
We will break down specific multi-hazard protocols—from severe weather and medical emergencies to active threats—and discuss how to integrate vital communication infrastructure so your facility's technology doesn't fail when you need it most. Attendees will leave with a concrete audit checklist to evaluate both their staff readiness and their physical alerting systems.
