Stephanie Flannery - Occupational Safety, Health & Environmental Manager, thyssenkrupp Bilstein
Stephanie Flannery is the Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental Manager for thyssenkrupp Bilstein of America, which is the largest manufacturer in Hamilton, OH with over 750 employees working 24/7. They manufacture premium automotive shock absorbers for high performance vehicles such as Tesla, Mercedes, Toyota, Ford, and Lucid. Stephanie has been working in EHS in manufacturing for her entire career, about 23 years. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Cincinnati, and also has a medical background as she experience as an EMT and a Medical Assistant. She carries a COSS certification (Certified Occupational Safety Specialist) from the National Safety Council, and is certified in Mental Health First Aid from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. And as if she wasn’t busy enough, she recently started back to graduate school and is pursuing her Masters of Science Degree in Management and Leadership.
Stephanie’s greatest career accomplishment has been creating and implementing a “Bring Your Dog to Work” Policy, which has been a hit for employee morale!
Summary
Stephanie’s presentation will discuss the mental health stigma that is in the workplace, explain how mental health challenges affect our employees’ safety, reasons why we would focus on total worker health, and ways to offer employees help and education.
