How Mental Health Impacts Workplace Safety and Productivity
Presented by: Janella Straw, MPH; Lifestyle Coach, Premier Community Health
Mental health affects individuals, those in our communities, and workplaces. Mental health disorders are among the most burdensome health concerns in the United States. Poor mental health can negatively affect an employee’s engagement, job performance and physical functioning. The Premier Community Health Team is excited to present to the Dayton Area Chamber – the impact of mental health on safety and productivity, how to begin to create a culture that embraces work/life balance and ways that leaders can cultivate healthy conversations surrounding mental wellness. With 62% of Ohioans in the labor force, workplace wellness programs can be a great solution to identify those at risk, connect them to resources, and support employees in stress resilience and managing chronic diseases.
