Emergency Action Plans and Pandemic Protection Plans Presented By Gary Auman, Auman, Mahan & Furry

The need for planning for emergencies by businesses was made very apparent following the tornadoes that struck Western Kentucky and Southern Illinois in the fall of 2021. These natural disasters forced our attention to how quickly disasters can occur and the need for a plan and training for all employees. In addition, as the COVID-19 pandemic seems to have faded for some into memory, businesses still need a Pandemic Preparedness Plan in place. Gary will discuss both of these topics in his presentation at our meeting on June 16th.

About the speaker - Gary Auman has been a dedicated volunteer in the area of safety and health for more than forty years. As an attorney he began his practice representing employers in the defense of workers’ compensation claims and for the past forty plus years he has counseled his local and national clients on safety compliance and he defends them when they run “afoul of OSHA” both at the state and federal levels. Gary holds degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Louisville and Law from The Ohio State University. He served in the Air Force from 1969-1973. Gary is an active volunteer in the community and serves on several non-profit boards. He also is a volunteer reader for Goodwill’s Radio Reading program and actively supports Goodwill’s Miracle Clubhouse.
