The Auman Award for Excellence in Safety was established in 2022 to recognize companies and organizations in the Dayton Region who have exemplary safety programs and demonstrate exceptional safety performance. This award is named after our long-time chamber supporter and safety advocate, Gary Auman.
In order to apply for this award, your company must be a current and active member of the Dayton/Miami Valley Safety Council. There is no cost associated with the application.
The application process consists of four industry specific questions. Your answers to these questions will be redacted to remove identifiable information and then be graded anonymously by safety compliance professionals. The questions are based off key components that should be included in every safety program.
All applicants will receive a detailed critique letter written by Gary Auman of Auman, Mahan & Furry. Gary is a legal professional with over 40 years of experience in workers' compensation, occupational safety, and health law.
We will present an award to the top company in each of the following categories:
Winners will be announced at our 72nd Annual Safety Conference and Symposium on October 16, 2024. The winners will also be showcased on the chamber website, chamber social media platforms and other chamber publications.
All applicants will earn a certificate receiving bronze, silver, gold, or platinum scores.
This program is a great opportunity to be recognized by safety professionals from across the Dayton region at our annual conference and receive valuable feedback on your safety program.
The deadline to apply is August 9th.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Companies will answer a total of four questions. The first two questions are mandatory. Once you have answered the first two questions, you are able to select two additional questions. Please only answer four questions total.
DO NOT ATTACH PORTIONS OF YOUR SAFETY PROGRAM - they will not be graded.
